Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we wear orange to remember and honour the children who never returned home, the survivors of residential schools, and the families whose lives were forever changed.
As a Councillor, I have supported steps toward reconciliation, including voting for Calgary’s Indigenous housing plan under the Home is Here strategy to ensure safe, culturally appropriate housing for Indigenous families. The City continues to advance the White Goose Flying Report, actively working to fulfill dozens of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
Let us commit to listening, learning, and acting. Let’s keep building a city rooted in respect, understanding, and true reconciliation.
