Future of ward 5 Key projects

As a Ward 5 candidate in 2021, I pledged to improve infrastructure and invest in projects that enhance the daily lives of residents.

As your Ward 5 City Councillor, I have worked tirelessly to move forward key infrastructure projects that address the needs of our growing communities. Some of the major projects I am advocating for include:

Country Hills Boulevard widening is a critical project aimed at easing congestion and improving traffic flow. This road has long been a bottleneck for commuters, impacting not just Ward 5 but surrounding communities as well. In the 2024 budget, I voted in favor as it included funding for this key infrastructure upgrade. Construction is set to begin this year, ensuring long-overdue improvements for residents and businesses alike.

Airport Trail widening is a critical project aimed at facilitating smoother travel from Stoney Trail to the airport. This roadway has long been a bottleneck for commuters, and I am committed to ensuring that it moves forward efficiently. Currently, the project is in the design phase, with plans to move into construction as soon as possible

The connection of 60 Street from Country Hills Boulevard to Airport Trail is a vital project that will improve accessibility, help connect northern and southern communities, and reduce congestion on Metis Trail during peak hours. Design work is ongoing, with the project set to begin construction this year.

Securing over $100 million for the North East Athletic Complex, a first-of-its-kind sports facility in Calgary that will provide high-quality recreational opportunities for families in Ward 5.

In addition to these significant infrastructure projects, I am also dedicated to fostering community engagement and promoting sustainable development in Ward 5. I believe that the input of residents is invaluable in shaping the future of our neighborhoods. Therefore, I will be hosting regular town hall meetings and community forums to gather feedback, discuss concerns, and share updates on ongoing projects.

These projects are critical to improving mobility, reducing congestion, and enhancing recreational spaces for our residents. I will continue pushing for these developments to ensure Ward 5 receives the investment it deserves. Together, we can build a Ward 5 that not only meets the demands of our growing population but also prioritizes the well-being and quality of life for all residents.
